From the outset, NOA has gone beyond the traditional boundaries of architecture to explore the intrinsic links among humans, space, and place. The studio’s philosophy centers on the belief that each project isn’t simply a construction, but a journey to discover new possibilities and narratives that are intertwined with places and people.
With a team of over 30 professionals, NOA has earned a reputation for its interdisciplinary approach, which encompasses many fields of architecture and design. Some of its most representative projects include Ötzi Peak viewing platform, located at a height of 10,700 ft. (3251 m) above the Val Senales Glacier, and the innovative sound installation Transsensorial Gateway, exhibited in Milan during Fuorisalone 2021.
The studio has gained international attention for bold projects such as Casa Messner, Zallinger Alpine village, and Hotel Hubertus, with its cantilevered swimming pool and suspended Hub of Huts. Each NOA project stands out for the way structures harmoniously integrate with the environment, without compromising their integrity.
NOA’s architecture is an ongoing exploration of artisanry and technology, in which sophisticated techniques from the past merge with bold innovations of the future. This spirit of experimentation avoids architectural repetition while seeking new ways to interpret space, always in terms of landscape and context.
With offices in Bolzano, Berlin, Turin, and Milan, NOA is constantly active. Its team of professionals operates as an open workshop, where boundaries are meant to be crossed, broken, and erased as part of an ongoing journey to discover new interpretations of architecture and design.
